Chief Operating Officer Recruitment
Welcome from Professor Silas Nicholls, Chief Executive Officer
Dear Candidate
Thank you for your interest in the role of Chief Operating Officer of Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. I hope that you will enjoy exploring this site to find out more about the Trust and this exciting position.
We are a complex organisation by any measure, employing nearly 10,000 members of staff and working across a wide range of services to provide the highest standards of compassionate, safe care to give our patients a positive experience. As one of the largest acute trusts in the country, we provide a full range of general hospital services to 450,000 residents in Preston, Chorley and South Ribble, as well as specialist care to 1.8m residents across the wider Lancashire and South Cumbria region.
We’re a great organisation, but we’ve also got some big challenges ahead of us, so there’ll be lots of plates to spin if you’re going to be successful in this post. What I’d really like to find is somebody who’s absolutely focussed on patient care, staff experience and wellbeing, and fundamentally, somebody who wants to make a tangible difference on the ground for the people that we serve. There’s work to be done in reorganising and reshaping our services, about how we work with communities to provide services differently, and how we will set out some really detailed operational plans for the future.
It sounds like a tall order, but the role presents huge opportunities and the team here, from our Executive colleagues and beyond, are all fantastic.
So, if you’d like to take up a first-class opportunity to make a difference, take a couple of minutes to watch the video below to find out more about the role.
Yours faithfully,
Professor Silas Nicholls
